She was seen struggling on the pole as her girlfriend managed to spin lithely around it.

Lucy then gave up to admire her workout buddy’s skills, remarking on Instagram: ‘If ya GF is dead fit and good at stuff, don’t go to pole with her because you’ll spend a lot of time being a pervert [sic].’

The pair shared a laugh as Lucy was seen spinning around, screaming as she did so.

She also wrote: ‘Guess who went pole dancing last night?? That’s right! Me!

‘Guess who was absolutely s**te?! You guessed it!

‘I always bowl my way into things thinking ‘I’m super strong so I’ll be good at this’ but when something requires an element of grace, elegance or coordination I realise that you cannot, in fact, rely on your upper-body strength for everything in life.

‘I can throw myself up a rope or ladder like a rat up a drain pipe but struggle to make wide, circular movements with pointy toes and elegant outward arm rolls like a dancer. I think that’s just who I am.

‘The teacher was so lovely and very supportive and made it look SO easy. My gf took to it like a literal swan onto water too. I don’t think pole is for me, but it got me thinking about circus things…

‘I think gymnastics is next on my agenda?! Any more recommendations?’
