Alan Carr brushes off weight loss praise after sharing slimline selfie

He revealed earlier this year he had been on a 1,000 calories per-day diet after being inspired by his pal Adele’s incredible seven stone weight loss.

Yet Alan Carr brushed off praise from Christine Lampard on Tuesday’s episode of Lorraine, after she gushed over a recent selfie he shared to his Instagram page.

Explaining the trick behind his slimline snap, Alan, 44, said: ‘Everybody said about my dramatic weight loss but what Idid was I sucked my face in and opened the fridge door and took that selfie’.

Despite previously saying he was encouraged by Adele’s weight loss to kickstart his own health journey, Alan suggested during his appearance that he doesn’t get the fuss over it and believes people should focus on her voice.

The funnyman said: ‘She’s always been gorgeous with those eyes and lips. With Adele you sort of miss the point if you’re interested about what size knickers she wears.’

‘It’s her voice, it’s that inspirational voice, if her voice got skinny then I can understand why you’d be interested about it.

‘I’d say – get a Greggs down you!’

Adele is said to have lost a staggering seven stone due to a 1,000 calorie a day diet and upping her exercise, and she showed off her dramatic transformation on her 32nd birthday.

The star is reportedly in a good place both ‘physically and mentally’ following her dramatic weight loss.

Since unveiling her new look, displaying her incredible lithe frame, the songstress has been showered with attention by fans and fellow celebs.

The singer has become increasingly health-conscious over recent months and a source close to the star praised her disciplined approach to her own well-being.

An insider previously told E! News: ‘She goes to different gyms. She goes early in the morning and meets with her trainer.

‘She gets her workout in first thing. She works out for about an hour and leaves drenched in sweat and looking like she worked very hard.’
