Piers Morgan left fellow Good Morning Britain star Andi Peters feeling ‘awkward’ on Wednesday, as he revealed that the veteran TV personality is secretly ‘stinking rich’.
Andi, 50, was seen making his usual appearance on the popular ITV show to promote its latest competition, where £500,000 is up for grabs for a lucky viewer.
However, amid the subsequent bantering between the presenters, Piers, 55, revealed that Andi actually owns the company that promotes the lucrative competitions.

Presenting the contest outside Essex’s Castle Hedingham, while standing beside a classic Bentley, Andi fanned the flames when he kicked off the exchange with Piers, who was seated in the studio alongside co-host Susanna Reid.
He said: ‘You know what? Me, Susanna, we live very normal lifestyles. But Piers, he definitely lives the lifestyle of the rich and famous and you can do the same too.’
Not one to take the playful jab lying down, Piers hit back: ‘I tell you what, let’s go back to Peters for a minute. Hey Peters, what’s your net worth?’

Piers continued: ‘People just think you turn up in your little orange puffer jacket and present the promos. No! He owns the company who makes the promos.
‘So when you call me rich and famous, you’re stinking rich aren’t you Peters, aren’t you Peters?’
‘That car is one of your ten,’ Piers jokingly went on. ‘That castle is yours! That puffer jacket, four grand. Versace puffer jacket. Just remember, every promo you watch… kerching, kerching.’
Trying in vain to laugh off the banter that had backfired on him, Andi said of his fortune: ‘We don’t talk about that’, before adding ‘this is awkward’.
Apparently happy with having silenced his colleague in the hilarious exchange, Piers concluded: ‘There you go. That will stop him going on about my wealth.’

Andi also surprised fans back in July, as he celebrated his 50th birthday after returning to ITV studios for the first time in 138 days.
The presenter, whose TV career began in the 1980s, was given a warm welcome from GMB co-hosts Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins following his return to the daily breakfast show.
Referencing the milestone, he said: ‘Fifty, can you believe it? It’s unreal. Little me, 50 years old! It’s been 138 days since I’ve been in the studio, which seems mad because it is my home. It’s quite nice to be back!’
Viewers also had a hard time believing it, with many claiming the youthful star – who has worked remotely during Britain’s lockdown – didn’t look a day over 30.
The presenter cut his teeth in children’s TV, beginning with an appearance in the BBC’s iconic Broom Cupboard in 1989.

He would go on to enjoy a successful career throughout the 1990s and 2000s, with mainstream presenting roles on Saturday morning kids show Live & Kicking, Top of the Pops and Channel 4 reality show Shipwrecked.
In honour of his decades spanning career, Andi was also treated to a series of pre-recorded video messages from his celebrity friends, among them Piers Morgan, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
Adding to the tributes, Good Morning Britain regular Kate Garraway said: ‘He’s an absolute legend. We love you to bits Andi. Happy, happy birthday.’
Chris Moyles added: ‘Andi, have a lovely day. All the best and see you soon.’
Wishing the presenter all the best while filming on a tropical beach, Lisa Snowdon said: ‘Happy birthday to the king of the comps! Love you Andi.’
