She’s had a bit of a rough trot during her time on The Block.

‘I’ve always had a tough exterior and never really cried very much in my life, so it was a real shock for George to see that too,’ Sarah said about her husband, 33.

She added: ‘But when you’re in that high-pressure circumstance and you’re fatigued to the most extreme point, then everything becomes amplified.’

Sarah told TV Week that struggling to get a win on the show made her doubt her place in the competition.

‘I was again starting to feel as if I was someone who didn’t really belong in the competition,’ she said.

But she said that she and George are more determined to get a win.

‘Yes I might cry, but I pick myself up and keep going and come back stronger,’ Sarah said, adding it ‘puts a bit of fire in the belly.’

It comes after Sarah and George recently spoke of the financial hardships they faced after losing their jobs to compete on The Block.

And last month, they revealed they suffered even more heartbreak while filming the show, following the tragic death of a family member.

She told TV Week that she was halfway through building a room on the Brighton construction site when she was told her grandmother had died.

‘George received a phone call and passed the phone over to me with a look I’ll never forget,’ Sarah said.

The call was from Sarah’s mother, who broke down in tears as she shared the news.

‘She told me nan had passed away earlier that day. I was in utter shock,’ she said.

Sarah admitted that she struggled to work during the grieving process, but decided to push through the pain to finish the room.

‘I was doing it in memory of my nan,’ she explained.
