Armed police swoop on picturesque Essex village to find man and woman with gunshot wounds inside house near caravan park

  • Paramedics and police were called to the property in Little Baddow at 8.40am  
  • Police had concerns a woman had been injured but found man had been shot too
  • Both were taken to hospital but their current condition is unknown 
  • Police have said they are not look for anyone else in connection to the shooting 

A man and woman have been shot into a rural home in an Essex village as armed police rushed to the scene. 

Paramedics and police officers attended the property in Little Baddow, by Chelmsford, at around 8.40am today. 

Police were called after they were alerted to concerns that a woman had been injured. 

But when they arrived at the home, near the Little Baddow Fruit Farm caravan park, they found that both a woman and a man had been shot with a gun. 

They were both taken to hospital but their current condition is unknown.   

Police told Essex Live they are not looking for anyone else in connection to the shooting.  

A police helicopter was also reported circling in the sky above the property.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson told Mirror Online: ‘Two ambulances, three vehicles from the Hazardous Area Response Team and two Essex and Herts Air Ambulances attended a property on Church Road in Little Baddow this morning just after 9.00am.

‘Two patients were treated for gunshot wounds and transported by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.’
