The Bachelor fans slam the new season for focussing on it’s mean girl behaviour

The Bachelor fans slam the ‘nasty’ new season for focusing on mean girl behaviour instead of Locky Gilbert’s quest for love

This season of The Bachelor got off to a roaring start as fans couldn’t wait to see Locky Gilbert find love.

But they have quickly become unimpressed that the season is spending more time focusing on cocktail parties and fights than on the 30-year-old’s quest for love.

Viewers flocked to Twitter to complain about the mean girl behaviour on Thursday night’s episode.

Not happy! Fans have quickly become unimpressed that this season of The Bachelor is spending more screen time focusing on cocktail parties and fights than on Locky Gilbert’s (right) quest for love. Pictured Locky with Osher Günsberg

‘Gone are the days where @TheBachelorAU was actually about people making real connections and possible love – way too much drama,’ said one user.

Another wrote: ‘Are you finding this year Locky aka the actual bachelor is the supporting character in this years nasty b**h fest?’

A third said: ‘Casting call prerequisite: “must be willing to do whatever weird s**t we come up with for attention”. Contestants: “yeah no worries, I’ll do it all to increase my insta followers”.’

Meanwhile, many viewers slammed the new format of the show, which saw Wednesday night’s episode feature a rose ceremony halfway through.

‘Why did #TheBachelorAU change the format? All we do is watch stupid cocktail parties?! Don’t fix something that ain’t broken. This is getting boring real quick!’ wrote one user.

Another commented: ‘The format tonight is so weird. The second part of an absolute dumpster fire of a cocktail party, a rose ceremony halfway through the episode and there is still another 20 minutes to go?!’

Many of the comments were sparked after Thursday night’s episode saw a wild argument between Roxi Kenny and Kaitlyn Hoppe.

A jealous Roxi, 29, became furious after learning that Kaitlyn, 26, had kissed Locky earlier in the evening.

At one stage, she said within earshot of Kaitlyn: ‘I’m sorry but I think that’s really rude to everyone else. You kissed someone at a cocktail party.’

‘That’s classless. She’s Gold Coast trash,’ she added. ‘This little silly b***h over here is saying she pecked on with someone. It’s disgusting. The b***h is a sl*t.’
