‘Saski was always Tammy’s dream’: Amy Hembrow reveals her famous sister fired her MULTIPLE times

In 2019, Tammy Hembrow fired her older sister Amy after more than two years as a general manager of her popular activewear brand, Saski Collection.

But Amy, 30, insists that being let go from the family business didn’t come as a surprise because Tammy, 25, had in fact fired and re-hired her multiple times before.

‘I think the biggest shock was probably to Tammy when I actually decided not to go back,’ she told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday.

Tammy, who launched Saski Collection in May 2017, apparently would have regularly ‘sisterly arguments’ with Amy during her time fulfilling administrative duties.

‘We’d have an argument and then she would fire me and we’d do it back and forth quite a bit,’ Amy said.

The turning point for Amy came when she fell pregnant with her fist child, daughter Aurora, in 2019.

‘I was about to embark on my motherhood journey and I thought, you know, Saski was always Tammy’s dream and I wanted to do something for myself,’ Amy said on her decision to go into business with their other sister Emilee, 28.

‘Emilee came to me with the idea to open a clinic. At the time I was working at Saski, and I didn’t have enough time. Once I was no longer at Saski Collection, I turned to Emilee and was like, you know what, let’s do it,’ Amy said.

Tammy first revealed she had fired Amy during an episode of her podcast, Hanging with the Hembrows, in November 2019.

‘Because we were sisters, she wouldn’t really listen fully to what I’d say. She’d think that she knows best,’ Tammy said.

She added at the time: ‘Now that [Amy] hasn’t been working for me for a little while, it has actually made us get along so much better. I don’t regret it.’

Amy also insisted the pair are now stronger than ever as sisters since parting ways professionally.

‘Tammy is so supportive. Honestly our relationship is 1000 times better since leaving Saski. We’re so much closer and we enjoy each others’ company a lot more, because it’s not so work based, and she supports Sskin 1000 per cent,’ Amy said.

Emilee added: ‘She[Tammy] just keeps saying “can you open so I can come in and get my treatments done ASAP!” So she’s definitely our number one supporter.’

Amy said her two-and-half years managing Saski taught her important lessons about running a successful business and working with family members.

So far, Hembrow sisters Amy and Emilee are pleasantly surprised they haven’t had any major arguments or fights regarding Sskin, but have definitely faced challenges while getting the company up-and-operational.

‘With us, it’s juggling the kids at the same time, that’s the main challenge. Because Amy just had a baby, she’s still breastfeeding, so it’s a lot of juggling with that and my kids also with us,’ Emilee said.

Amy agreed, adding: ‘I think we work quite well together. Especially Emilee and myself on this journey, I think we had a couple kinks we worked through and now we understand each other a lot better.’

Sskin clinic offers celebrity-approved treatments, including skin needling, Rose Quartz signature facials, IV drip treatments, and injectables.
