Radio host Ray Hadley emerges as the father-in-law from HELL with his daughter’s boyfriend

He’s a tough talking radio host, and Ray Hadley had a tense phone conversation with his daughter’s boyfriend on Wednesday.

The 2GB radio personality revealed his 23-year-old daughter, Sarah, had been in a relationship with a guy referred to simply as Jack for a couple of months.

And teaming up with The Kyle & Jackie O Show, the 65-year-old decided to prank Jack, pretending to put pressure on him and his relationship with Sarah.  

Ray told Jack he’d ‘agonised’ about calling him, but after talking to two of his other children, he decided to go through with it. 

After essentially asking Jack what his intentions were, the young man assured Ray he was ‘just as serious as she is’.

But Ray wasn’t done, and told Jack that Sarah had even been talking about moving in with him. 

Jack told Ray that moving in together was ‘definitely on the cards’, prompting the talkback radio host to then ask about his finances.

‘Have you got any money at all to invest into property or will I have to stump up a lot? You’ve got money there?’ he asked. 

Jack assured Ray that he was financially secure, and said he’d want to foot the bill for any property they eventually invested in.

The conversation then turned to Jack’s haircut, with Ray asking his daughter’s boyfriend about his ‘mullet’ haircut. 

Ray urged him to get a haircut, telling Jack that he couldn’t ‘wear a hat for the rest of your life’.

Surprisingly, Jack told Ray that it was actually Sarah who wanted him to keep the mullet, explaining that ‘all the footy players are rocking them’.

After describing his daughter as ‘a bit of a princess’, Jack admitted that Sarah was ‘a bit of a handful’.

Ray then asked Jack if he’d ever watched ‘that stupid program’ Bachelor In Paradise, and he told him that he had.

‘I was terrified that she was going to end up with a d**khead like Ciarran [Stott]. You know the bloke with all the tats and the bun on his head?’ continued Ray. 

Ray then asked about Jack’s previous relationships, wanting to know if Sarah was ‘a rebound’, before finally coming clean and revealing it had all been a prank.

They then brought Sarah onto the line, and she admitted it had been ‘so painful’ having to listen to her dad interrogate her boyfriend.

‘I might be single again soon, Dad. Thanks for that,’ she added.
