‘It’s the wild west out there!’ Radio queen Jackie ‘O’ Henderson reveals her shocking run-ins with people from Sydney’s western suburbs

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has been getting an education about Sydney’s western suburbs by producer Pedro Cuccovillo Vitola.

And on Tuesday, the 45-year-old revealed some of her shocking run-ins with western Sydney folks on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

The radio queen, who lives in the upscale eastern suburbs, admitted that while driving in the west she had beeped her horn at a driver ahead of her.

The mother-of-one recalled: ‘I tailed-gated a guy because he was going too slow. It was the biggest mistake I ever made. He got out of his car, came up to my window and started yelling abuse. I was terrified.’

Pedro explained that in the west, beeping your car horn will be perceived as ‘aggressive’.

He said: ‘It always leads to road rage. They (the other driver) just rage straight away, even if you are in the right, it doesn’t matter. Someone will get out of their car and try to punch on with you.’

‘Oh my god, it’s the wild west out there,’ Jackie said in shock.

Pedro also explained to Jackie that one must dress down when going out to shop at Kmart.

He said: ‘You get dirty looks if you dress nicely to go to Kmart in the west. What you should be wearing is your pyjamas. That’s the acceptable outfit.’

‘Some chick might look at you the wrong way and start a punch on,’ he added.

Jackie, who is no stranger to wearing designer outfits, realised what he was saying was true because she found herself in a similar situation years ago, while filming a TV show in Mount Druitt.

‘I was in a convertible car, I had a white jumpsuit on and looked like a Charlie’s Angel.

‘I was in Mount Druitt and the women that abuse me, the young girls (yelled) “you f***ing s***, get off the road,” she recalled.

‘I was mortified, I could not go anywhere. I was so terrified driving home,’ she added.
