Gerard Butler was seen warmly throwing an arm around a male friend during Taika Waititi’s birthday party this Friday.
The 50-year-old actor could be spotted laughing uproariously while mingling with guests at the outdoor knees-up in Malibu.
He was having so much fun that at one point he forgot to social distance as he and two other men gathered close together to look at something on a table.

The 300 star looked dashing as ever, showing off his muscled arms in a brown T-shirt that he teamed with green cargo pants.
Another famous party guest was Baby Driver actress Eiza Gonzalez who was seen wearing a mask as she left the event.
Although Taika will actually be ringing in his 45th birthday this Sunday he apparently got the festivities started a couple of days early.

The New Zealand filmmaker rose to global fame as the director of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Thor: Ragnarok starring Chris Hemsworth.
He reached new heights of critical acclaim last year with the comedy JoJo Rabbit which was about a boy in the Hitler Youth.
Taika, who was a director on the Disney+ Star Wars show The Mandalorian, has now been tapped to helm an upcoming film in that franchise.

Although his movie was initially supposed to bow in 2022 it has been postponed a year because of the coronavirus lockdowns.
The silver fox will also be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Thor: Love And Thunder which is scheduled to release in 2022.
Meanwhile Gerard also has several projects in the pipeline including the spy thriller Kandahar and the post-apocalyptic comedy Afterburn.
