The Weeknd was announced Tuesday to play the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City, along with the boy band CNCO, Maluma and rap artist Roddy Ricch.

All four are nominated for awards at the show, as The Weeknd is up for six honors while Ricch has three, CNCO has two and Maluma one.

The concert is slated to be held outdoors around the Big Apple amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as MTV says it ‘will pay homage to New York with outdoor performances around the city.’

Headliner: The Weeknd was announced Tuesday to play the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City, along with the boy band CNCO, Maluma and rap artist Roddy Ricch. He was snapped in LA last December

It’s the second time performing at the show for the Toronto-based rapper, who sang Can’t Feel My Face on the show five years ago.

Maluma performed Felices los 4 two years ago while 2020 marks the first appearances on the annual award show for CNCO and Ricch.

The announcements come on the heels of BTS, Doja Cat and J Balvin being announced to play the show, while Keke Palmer will commandeer hosting duties.

Among the unique twists this year include Best Music Video From Home, with the nominees being Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Drake, and John Legend; and Best Quarantine Performance, with Legend, CNCO, Chloe & Halle, Post Malone and Lady Gaga among the nominees.
