Lupita Nyong’o shares ‘a moment of joy’ as she watches her brother’s wedding on her laptop amid the pandemic: ‘Thank God for technology!’

Lupita Nyong’o wasn’t able to attend her brother Peter Nyong’o’s wedding in the flesh due to coronavirus travels restrictions, so she did the next best thing.

The 37-year-old Us star revealed Thursday that she’d watched her little brother’s nuptials to Wanja Wohoro on her laptop from the comfort of her home.

She shared a photo of her viewing setup to Instagram, along with some sweet wedding photos from her brother’s wedding in Kenya.

Lupita had set her MacBook Pro up against her window, with a bit of the greenery poking through.

Peter (who also goes by Junior) beamed in the footage as he held hands with his bride.

He wore a golden yellow vest and a decorative front with fringe on the bottom, while his new wife wore a brilliant white sleeveless dress.

‘Yup, he is off the market, folks! Sharing a moment of joy in my family’s life when my sweet, gentle, loving baby brother @juniornyongo made his declaration of love to his new bride @wanjawohoro this week,’ Lupita wrote.

‘I still cannot believe I was not physically present, but thank God for technology! Welcome to the family, Wanja!’

Wedding photos that the Black Panther actress posted showed Junior embracing his bride while affectionately nuzzling his face against her cheek.

In another shot, the couple held hands and walked down a lovely stone-paved path that was surrounded by vegetation.

Although the status of the coronavirus pandemic and traveling conditions might have dissuaded Lupita from trying to attend her brother’s wedding, she wouldn’t have been able to come regardless, as the country is currently blocking international travelers from entering.

An update from the US embassy in Nairobi, Kenya on Thursday that a suspension on international flights into the country wouldn’t be lifted until August 1.

Lupita’s brother might be familiar to Oscars viewers thanks to Bradley Cooper’s instantly viral audience selfie from 2014 featuring a bevy of celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ellen DeGeneres, Kevin Spacey, Brad Pitt and Lupita herself.

She could just barely be seen above Brad’s shoulder, but her brother got a prime location in the front right after jumping into the group selfie.

The actress joked later on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Peter had ‘upstaged’ her win for Best Supporting Actress that evening for her searingly painful performance in 12 Years A Slave.

At the time, Peter was studying theater and playing soccer while attending Stetson University in Florida.

His edgy fashion choices have earned him some acclaim on social media in recent years.

Back in November 2018, he attended a music festival in Kenya wearing a red dress that complemented his future bride’s outfit, which caused a stir among his followers.

A year earlier, he stood out at the premiere of his sister’s film Star Wars: The Last Jedi in a pink and white striped head wrap.
