Jennifer Aniston takes part in the ‘women supporting women’ challenge on Instagram and pays tribute to ‘all the brilliant and beautiful women in my life’

Jennifer Aniston took part in the latest Instagram challenge, despite admitting she doesn’t quite understand it.

The Cake actress looked phenomenal in a black and white professionally shot snap that she posted on Monday in honor of the viral trend.   

In an effort to promote positivity and female empowerment amid the pandemic, women have been sharing monochrome photos of themselves on the social media app.

The poster then nominates a friend to take on the challenge usng the hashtag #womensupportingwomen, #blackandwhitechallenge or captioning their photos with the phrase “challenge accepted.” 

Aniston posed in a denim shirt tucked into jeans with her hair styled in loose curls around her face.

‘Thank you to all the brilliant and beautiful women in my life who sent the most uplifting messages today. Truth be told, I don’t really understand this #challengeaccepted thing…but who doesn’t love good reason to support women! Soooo…. challenge accepted!’ she wrote in the caption.

Meanwhile Aniston joined her Friends costars Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox to encourage fans to cast their votes in the general election this fall.

In a post Kudrow shared on her account, the trio from the NBC smash posed together outdoors smiling.

‘Friends don’t let friends skip elections,’ Kudrow, 56, captioned the post.

Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay on the hit, implored fans to ‘text FRIENDS to 26797 to make sure you are registered … and tag your friends below to remind them to check their registration.’

Aniston, 51, shared a picture of herself playing Rachel Green on the show, looking dismayed with a white top on that read USA.

The A-list actress wrote over the Instagram Stories snap, ‘When you realize there are only 100 days until the election,’ with an emoji expressing concern.

Cox, 56, shared a clip from their get-together in which Aniston leaned in to tell her something.

The posts were shared to promote Register A Friend Day, a day conceptualized by the non-partisan ‘I am a voter’ movement to create a cultural shift around voting and civic engagement.

Aniston has not shied away from touchy topics in since joining Instagram in October of 2019, and amassing 34.9 million followers in the time since.

Earlier this month, she shared a post of a friend named Kevin who was placed on a ventilator in April battling the coronavirus, and remains recovering from the pandemic.

The Morning Show star wrote: ‘This is our friend Kevin. Perfectly healthy, not one underlying health issue. This is Covid. This is real.’

She and Cox have also taken to Instagram to encourage wearing face masks in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

The stars of the smash hit are are set to reunite with castmates Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer for a reunion show on HBO Max, though production has been held up amid the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown in the entertainment industry.
