Ninja Warrior’s Troy Cullen gets dreadlocks SHAVED OFF after losing bet

Australian Ninja Warrior star Troy Cullen gets his dreadlocks SHAVED OFF by Freddie Flintoff after losing a bet with his competing best mates

Australian Ninja Warrior returned to Channel Nine for another season on Sunday.

And luck was not on returning contestant Troy Cullen’s side – not only falling off the ‘door knob’ challenge on the obstacle course, but also losing out on a bet.

The 26-year-old, nicknamed ‘Dirt’ due to his scruffy look, had his dreadlocks shaved off by sideline commentator Freddie Flintoff after best mates Zak Stolz and Ashlin Hebert beat him on the same course.

Zak and Ashlin had a flawless run, with Zak, 21, setting the fastest time for heat one.

Freddie said to Zak: ‘You’ve laid down the gauntlet because he (Troy) could be losing his hair very soon,’ to which Troy remarked: ‘[I’m] pretty nervous after that run.’

Before taking to the course, Troy revealed that he wanted to raise the bar this season after failing to climb Mt Midoriyama last year.

The larrikin lad explained on camera how he had made a bet with his mates if he ‘falls off’ on the course.

‘If I fall off before them, there goes the hair. It’s getting a snip,’ he said.

Unfortunately for Troy, he came crashing down into the water during the door knob component.

Getting out a shaver in the dressing room, Freddie grinned as he shaved off Troy’s dreadlocks.

‘Hate to tell you but you’re going bald,’ Freddie joked to Troy.

The fourth season of Australian Ninja Warrior kicked off on Sunday, with contestants hoping to make it to the top of Mt Midoriyama.

Whoever wins the competition will take home the whopping $400,000 cash prize.

Australian Ninja Warrior continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
