Scarlett Moffatt ‘is set to star in new show Celebrity Karaoke Club’… seven months after being axed from ‘dream job’ on Saturday Night Takeaway

Scarlett Moffatt is reportedly ‘set to star in Celebrity Karaoke Club’, putting her back on primetime TV seven months after she was axed from Saturday Night Takeaway.

The former Gogglebox star, 29, is thought to be among the list of names being considered by producers at ITV2 for the series which will start later in 2020.

If Scarlett does get a spot on the show, it’d mean she would have to take part in song battles and judge her own performance, reports The Sun.

New project? Scarlett Moffatt, 29, is reportedly ‘set to star in Celebrity Karaoke Club’, a new show on ITV2 due to start later in the year

A source told the publication: ‘Producers are just starting to sign up celebs but are delighted with those they are making progress with.

‘Scarlett in particular is lovely and really popular with viewers so they think she would be great.’

MailOnline has contacted ITV and Scarlett’s representative for comment.

The possible new role comes seven months after it was confirmed that Scarlett had been dropped from her ‘dream job’ on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

ITV bosses confirmed last November that the former Gogglebox star, who joined the ITV show back in 2017, would not feature on the show in the 2020 series.

Speaking to MailOnline, a spokesperson for the channel said: ‘Scarlett Moffatt won’t feature as a contributor in the 2020 series of Saturday Night Takeaway’.

Despite being dropped, Scarlett didn’t appear to be too upset when she discussed it on Matthew Wright on talkRADIO last year.

When asked about her exit, Scarlett told Matthew: ‘I don’t know why this is a big story because it hasn’t been on for two years. It’s not like a rolling contract.

‘They are just changing the format of the show. My bit was like challenge Anneka, and they have taken that out. It will still be amazing with Ant and Dec and Stephen, what a trio of men.’
