Sara Bareilles’ boyfriend Joe Tippett helped her recover from ‘very mild case’ of coronavirus

Grammy winner Sara Bareilles detailed precisely how supportive her live-in love Joe Tippett was to her ahead of their fourth anniversary of dating on September 21.

It was April 2 when fans of the 40-year-old NoCal native first discovered via Instastory that she had contracted the coronavirus and ‘fully recovered.’

‘He did a good job taking care of me,’ Sara told People on Thursday. ‘He was a good friend and companion through all of that.’

The Fire songstress and the 38-year-old Morning Show actor were last pictured together on June 30 in Manhattan packing on the PDA. 

‘I didn’t have it nearly as bad as other people who are struggling with it, one of them being Nick Cordero,’ Bareilles said of her former Waitress castmate, who died from the virus on July 5.

‘I was lucky. Like I said, I had a very mild case, so I didn’t need to go to the hospital or anything…It’s a scary thing, but lots and lots of people are getting it and recovering just fine. So I think we should remember that as well.’

Aside from her quarantine partner, Sara also stays positive by meditating daily and speaking with a therapist once or twice a week.

‘I have a little meditation cushion that I drag out onto the fire escape when I do my meditating outside in the mornings, and he’s got his X-Box in the next room,’ the UCLA grad explained.

‘It’s really not my story, but when we’re watching her go through the audition process for labels and [getting] feedback on her material, some of those things are taken directly from my life where I was told I’m just a voice or I’m just a writer and I shouldn’t sing my own material, or, “I love you, but I don’t know what to do with you. I just wouldn’t know how to market you.”‘
