Abbie Chatfield is sent home from Bachelor In Paradise after missing out on a rose during the first elimination ceremony… and the show’s fans aren’t happy about it

She emerged as an early fan favourite, but that didn’t stop Abbie Chatfield from getting sent home at the end of Thursday’s episode of Bachelor In Paradise.

The 24-year-old hopeful was left stunned after Jamie Doran gave his rose to Brittney Weldon during the show’s first rose ceremony.

Abbie was left blindsided by the move after Jamie, 40, earlier promised he’d give her his rose, something he’d also promised Brittney.

‘You’re not going home, OK? I’ll make sure you get a rose, alright?’ he told Abbie after she tried her best to convince him to save her.

And viewers were equally unimpressed, with many of them venting about Abbie’s elimination on Twitter.

‘Nooooooo! Abbie was the only interesting one. I hope there’s more drama coming, otherwise I’m done,’ tweeted one fan.

But one fan was confident the feisty reality star would make a comeback: ‘They’ll bring Abbie back in as an intruder for sure’.

After thinking she’d manipulated Jamie into giving her his rose, Abbie later admitted it was all a ploy for her to stay on the show.

‘Jamie’s keen on me. I’m not keen on Jamie. But I’d be fine to accept a rose from him. It’s just so I can get through to the next round of boys,’ she admitted.

Plot twist: She was completely taken by surprise when Jamie ultimately chose Brittney, 26, stammering: 'I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine. I cannot believe this'

Meanwhile, Jamie said he felt like a victim, despite promising both Abbie and Brittney his rose.

‘Why does the drama follow me around? I honestly don’t know. Feel like I’m in a bit of a firestorm already,’ he said.
