‘Can somebody please check on Matt Preston?’ Ex-MasterChef judge goes viral after sharing a WILD recipe for a ‘sushi sandwich’
Having left behind his role as a judge on MasterChef Australia, Matt Preston has some extra time on his hands.
The British food critic published an eyebrow-raising recipe for a ‘sushi sandwich’ last month, which has since gone viral.
In his column for Delicious magazine, the 59-year-old said his creation was ‘genius’ but acknowledged it was ‘probably a sin against sushi’.

Matt encouraged readers to place nine thinly-sliced sushi rolls between two slices of bread, then add butter and Japanese mayonnaise for the ultimate snack.
‘The extra brilliance is that using small maki means every bite you take of the sandwich has a whole mini roll inside it,’ he wrote.
He continued: ‘For the perfect way to eat a sandwich is in nine grown-up-sized bites, not lots of rat-like nibbles.’

The bizarre sandwich recipe has left fans baffled, with some claiming they are genuinely worried about celebrity chef.
Radio host Maria Dimitrakas posted a screenshot of the column on Twitter and wrote: ‘Can someone check on Matt Preston?’
It comes after Channel Seven announced Matt’s role as a judge on new cooking show Plate of Origin, alongside Manu Feildel and Gary Mehigan.

A trailer released over the weekend shows the judges welcoming the contestants, all of whom hope to impress with their diverse cuisines ranging from Venezuelan and Vietnamese.
Until just days ago, Seven had been prevented from using former MasterChef judges Matt and Gary in adverts for Plate of Origin because they were still contractually bound to Channel 10.
However, their deal has since expired and they can now promote the Seven program.
