Kate Garraway reveals she’s FINALLY going to visit her husband Derek Draper for the first time in four months as he recovers from COVID-19

  • The presenter, 53, said she may get to ‘dash off’ and see Derek in person for the first time in four months
  • Kate has previously said she’s seen Derek via. Facetime, due to restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic
  • On Monday Kate returned to GMB after taking a break while Derek battled coronvirus 
  • She revealed last week her ‘desperate’ husband Derek almost died ‘six times’ while hospitalised, adding it’s ‘a miracle’ he survived 
  • Derek was originally admitted to hospital with COVID-19 symptoms on March 30 and has since remained in intensive care 
  • Last month Kate revealed that Derek had been declared COVID-free, but remained in a ‘critical condition’ 
  • Kate and Derek married in 2005, and share daughter Darcey, 14, and son Billy, 10

Kate Garraway she’s finally getting to visit her husband Derek Draper in person, as he remains hospitalised during his recovery from COVID-19.

The presenter, 52, said on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain that nurses are setting up a television so Derek can watch her, after revealing on Monday he had ‘a stable day,’ after being brought out of his coma last week.

Kate made her return to GMB on Monday alongside Ben Shephard after taking a break from the show while Derek was hospitalised.

Kate told Ben Shephard: ‘I might be able to go and visit Derek today! In fact the nurses are going to put GMB on for him – they have a TV – and they’re going to put it on for him this morning. 

‘They forgot I was on yesterday – they’re going to see if he can hear anything. Trying everything we can do.’
