Zac Efron to appear in the new season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Zac Efron is ‘in talks’ to appear in the new season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia – as he continues to keep a low profile in Byron Bay

Hollywood actor Zac Efron has been quietly living in Byron Bay for the past few months to escape the coronavirus pandemic in the United States.

And rumours are swirling that he’s in talks to appear in the local version of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, which is being filmed in Australia next year for the first time after COVID-19 travel restrictions ruled out production in South Africa.

Channel 10 executives are hoping to convince the High School Musical star, 32, to sign on the dotted line, according to New Idea on Monday.

The network has reportedly offered the American actor $1.5million to participate in the upcoming season, which will likely begin filming early next year.

‘Channel 10 are saving a fortune filming in Australia [instead of South Africa] and can now afford some bigger names,’ a source explained.

‘Zac is the No. 1 and most-wanted participant.’

I’m a Celebrity… Get me Out Of Here! is expected to begin production in January.

Because it is being filmed locally this year, there is apparently a bigger talent budget and Channel 10 is hoping to attract major stars.

This wouldn’t be Zac’s first foray into reality TV, as he recently filmed a series titled Killing Zac Efron, which saw him explore the jungles of Papua New Guinea.

Given the fact that Zac is currently living in Byron Bay, a tourist hotspot on Australia’s east coast, I’m a Celebrity could be the perfect opportunity for him.

After weeks of speculation it was finally confirmed earlier this month that Zac was living in Byron Bay.

He is said to be hanging out with famous locals, including actor Chris Hemsworth and musician Tim Freedman.

The 17 Again star is also spending time with his manager, Jason Barrett, according to The Daily Telegraph.
