The Bachelorette New Zealand star Dr Lesina Nakhid-Schuster has revealed she is taking a break from medicine to pursue acting.

The 32-year-old gave her fans a life update on Instagram on Thursday as she explained that she had been ‘working full steam’ through the pandemic, and had been using the last few weeks to ‘plan her next moves in life’.

Noting that acting was ‘very different to the whole reality TV world’, Lesina explained that it had always ‘been another passion of hers’, and she would tell her followers more about it when her plans were set in stone.

Lesina shared a stunning snap of herself dressed in bike shorts and a sports bra as she held onto her friend’s child.

She added a lengthy caption, which read: ‘Ok life updates – been out of quarantine nearly three weeks now and have been using this time to try and catch up with everyone!

‘I left NZ before COVID hit and before the end of the show [Bachelorette New Zealand], so as you can imagine there’s A LOT of debriefing to be done lol!

‘At the moment I’m living on my own in Central Auckland which gives me some much needed alone time to plan my next moves in life (which I’ll share with everyone once it’s a bit more set).’

Teasing her plans further, the beauty wrote: ‘But it [her plans] does partly involve getting back in to acting which is another passion of mine – very very different to the whole reality TV world.

‘I’m taking a little break from Doctor work for a moment too as I was working full steam right through Covid and I’ve just had a pretty hectic past year in general.’

Last month, Lesina  revealed she had a nasal swab coronavirus test after arriving from Australia.

Sharing her experience on Instagram, she said: ‘I just had the nasal swab done and it’s so funny because I do it to patients all the time and I’ve never have had it done myself before and it was not comfortable.’

Before adding: ‘I even had to lie down afterwards. That is not fun.’

Lesina had originally planned to fly out of Auckland to Christchurch.

However, new rules have been introduced that require mandatory exit testing.

‘So what happened this morning was two cops knocked on my door and the guy was like “we’re now doing mandatory exit testing”. You have to have a negative test before you leave,’ Lesina explained.

She continued: ‘And this was the day I was going to leave, so if I would have left a couple of days ago, I would have been out of here.

‘But anyway, what needs to be done needs to be done. I get it. I have a flight to Christchurch on Saturday. We’ll see, hopefully its negative.’

Lesina has been helping assist Sydney and Canberra hospitals during the coronavirus pandemic.

This isn’t the first time Lesina has helped out in a crisis.

In January, she flew across the ditch to help Australia with the country’s bushfire relief efforts.

She even missed the season premiere of The Bachelorette NZ while offering medical assistance in New South Wales.
