Model Emily Skye opens up about the dramatic birth of her second child after she was forced to deliver the baby three weeks early in her living room
Australian fitness guru and personal trainer Emily Skye welcomed her second child, a son named Izaac, last month.
But the birth didn’t exactly go smoothly, as Izaac arrived three weeks early and Emily, 35, went into labour on her living room floor with the assistance of paramedics and her husband, Declan Redmond.
Appearing on Sunrise on Wednesday morning, the couple revealed that their son was ‘doing great’ as they opened up about his dramatic birth.

‘They say don’t plan your births because it never goes to plan,’ Emily laughed.
The couple reminisced about the very sudden arrival of their baby at home, with Declan admitting he was ‘wildly underprepared’ for it.
‘I have never been so wildly underprepared for anything in my life. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I was having a nervous breakdown,’ he said.
After the baby’s arrival last month, Emily shared the happy news with fans on Instagram, and also posted candid photos of the delivery.

The mother of two revealed that while her followers had initially been ‘shocked’ by the photos, the response was overwhelmingly’ positive.
‘The response was overwhelmingly proud, calling me things like a warrior and wonder woman,’ she said.
‘It was lovely to see how supportive and lovely they were to me. Women supporting women.’

Emily had accompanied her birth announcement with photos of the delivery, which took place in her living room with the assistance of ambulance workers.
She looked understandably exhausted as she lay on the floor with little Izaac resting on her lap underneath a blanket.

Emily announced she was expecting her second child in an Instagram post in January.
‘Mia is going to be a BIG SISTER! I thought 2019 was big but not as big as my belly’s going to be in 2020!’ she captioned a photo of her burgeoning belly.
‘We’re so excited and blessed to have a sibling for Mia on the way and can’t wait to share the journey with you.’
