Ashley James hits out at ‘creeps’ for sexualising her post about bra fittings

‘I wish more people with big boobs owned their bodies’: Ashley James hits out at ‘creeps’ for sexualising her post about bra fittings

Ashley James was left exasperated after a post she made about bra fittings was inundated with ‘creeps’ sending messages.

The model, 33, took to Instagram on Monday as she hit out at suggestions women should ‘cover up’ to avoid male attention, noting that she would have been more comfortable with her body if she had seen more fuller bust role models.

She made the remarks after sharing a stunning lingerie snap in which she revealed she had boosted her bust by three cup sizes in lockdown.

After being sent a vulgar message by a follower, Ashley hit back: ‘And it continues.

‘I even questioned before my wrote my caption whether I should talk about bra fittings as I knew the creeps would be out en masse…

‘But honestly I wish I saw more people with big boobs owning their bodies when I was younger so I didn’t feel like a freak, clueless about where to buy bras and and bikinis that didn’t make me feel like a granny.

‘We don’t need to cover up our natural bodies to stop male attention, we need men to be taught to respect women. Plus I’d even get gross attention in a vest top. [sic]’

It came after Ashley shared a stunning snap in her new lingerie with a caption urging women not to worry about her clothes size.

She penned: ‘The best thing I did in lockdown was buy bigger clothes and not worry about the sizing.

‘Hands up if you’re obsessing over the number on some scales, or the size of your clothes?

‘The most liberating thing you can do is throw away your scales (they don’t mean anything anyway, plus muscle weighs more than fat), and stop seeing a dress size as important.

‘I used to be desperate to fit into a certain size, and let it ruin my confidence if I couldn’t.

‘Although ironically, being squeezed into clothes that were slightly too small made me more self conscious anyway as I’d be conscious of love handles that wouldn’t have been there anyway in the right size clothes (even though I think love handles and rolls are pretty sexy) [sic]’.

She continued:  ‘I really love my body now regardless of how it fluctuates, because I’ve stopped looking at numbers and started enjoying how it functions and moves.

‘I’ve stopped worrying about other people’s judgements because I know that’s a reflection on them not me. I feel sexy in the clothes I wear because they’re comfortable and don’t feel tight.

‘I noticed my bras were getting tighter so I did a free virtual fitting with @weirwonderful (search for the bra whisperer) and she put me in bras 3 cup sizes bigger than I was wearing (I jumped from a 32DD to a FF).

‘Now my bras feel so much comfier, I don’t get bubble boobs, and they look better too. This set was gifted by @curvykate and it’s my new favourite.

‘Don’t let you body be a prisoner to numbers, and remember beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and there’s nothing sexier than confidence.

‘When I look back on my deathbed, I’ll remember the experiences and memories I had, not the size of my body. It sounds silly and cheesy, but I think of that all the time. ❤️ [sic]’
