Big Brother viewers mock housemates as they breakdown after reading letters from home – only two weeks after entering the house

Big Brother Housemates were unable to contain their emotions after receiving letters from home on Monday night.

But while the housemates were pouring out their hearts while speaking about their loved ones – viewers were less-than-impressed.

Twitter erupted with mockery over the bizarre display after the housemates have been in away for only 17 days.

‘You’d think they have died’: Big Brother viewers mocked housemates as they brokedown while reading letters from home on Monday night, only two weeks after entering the house

‘You’d think all their families have died with this editing,’ one viewer wrote.

Another irate viewer thought it was a little early: ‘I just find letters from home this early to be a bit dull. Save it for final week.’

Yet another wrote: ‘It’s day 17. Calm down.’

Housemates including marriage celebrant Shane Vincent (pictured) broke down: 'Geez, you get me every time Big Brother. Softie discharge. Wife and kids would be great [to hear from]'

After ‘evicted’ housemate Angela Clancy returned to the game, housemates were treated to an Italian fest together.

While the tension was obvious, it was then that Shane was asked to go to the diary room by Big Brother.

Shane spoke lovingly of his wife and kids: ‘Geez, you get me every time Big Brother. Softie discharge. Wife and kids would be great [to hear from],’ he said.

Mockery: Viewers were less than sympathetic when it came to the housemates breaking down, with it only Day 17 in the house

The marriage celebrant took a pink box out containing letters, with the housemates getting emotional immediately upon hearing from their loved ones.

Housemate Mat spoke of his fiancé Jess: ‘She is the best thing to happen to me. She came into my life when I needed it,’ he said.

Even former AFL star Dan Gorringe lost it over his ex-girlfriend, Ana.

Upset: '[She's] The girl I am trying to rekindle my love affair with. She's the love of my life. I don't think I have ever loved someone this much,' Daniel said of her
