Stars share sweet tributes to celebrate Father’s Day in the UK

Celebs in the UK shared heart-warming posts in celebration of Father’s Day, observed on the third Sunday in June each year.

Leading the way was Victoria Beckham, 46, who uploaded a sweet flashback image of her husband David, 45, and their children Brooklyn, 21, Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and Harper, eight, from their trip to Miami last year, where they stayed at close pal Marc Anthony’s £16.5m waterfront mansion.

Former Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes, 31, who is currently 23 weeks pregnant with her third child, posted a photo of husband Marvin, 35, in bed with their two daughters Alaia-Mai, seven, and Valentina Raine, three, as she thanked the musician for being ‘the dad I longed for’.

Aspiring tennis player Romeo also took to his platform to express his appreciation towards his footballer dad by treating his followers to a childhood picture of him in the swimming pool with a shirtless David.

The former sportsman shared a touching message to his own dad Ted, 71, who he credited for ‘giving me the drive and work ethic to succeed.’

TV presenter Rochelle ensured her husband of nearly eight years felt special on the annual occasion as she posted a collage of black-and-white snaps from his parenthood journey.

The This Morning star, who has been candid about her ‘non-existent’ relationship with her estranged father Mark Piper in the past, wrote on her account: ‘Happy Fathers Day to the man we got SO lucky to call our own.

‘Watching you be and grow as a Dad is something so special to me..it’s the most natural thing in the world to you and you put it before anything else. You are the Dad that others look at and wish you were theirs.

‘Growing up I longed for one like you…You are the best, you deserve the best and you will ALWAYS be their number 1. With a new little one on the way I’m so blessed I get to watch you do it all over again.

‘Love you endlessly (the first pic is my favourite, he was away working for a few days and I think you can tell he was very missed).’

Rochelle’s parents divorced when she was only three and was raised in a single-parent household, but has managed to forge ‘successful’ relationships with her long-lost half-siblings, Love Island star Sophie Piper, 21, Lili, 24, and Jake, 23 – who her father shares with new partner Julie.

Footballer Rio Ferdinand – whose wife Kate, 29, recently revealed they’re expecting their first child together – also joined in on the festivities by thanking his ‘suave’ father Julian for ‘being there when I’ve needed you’.

Alongside sweet images of the duo, the pundit, 41, said: ‘Happy Father’s Day Dad you being there when I’ve needed you, especially most recently means so much to me. Love you dad ❤️ #Suave #TheJudge.’ (sic)

The father-of-three’s mum Janice St Fort died in July 2017 aged 58, after losing her battle with cancer – marking the Ferdinands’ second tragedy in just two years after Rio’s wife Rebecca Ellison left behind their kids Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia, nine, when she passed away from the disease in May 2015 at just 34.

The Formula One heiress shared a sweet throwback photo of daughter Sophia, six, as a baby along with her husband Jay Rutland, 39.

To accompany the photo, Tamara penned: ‘Happy Fathers Day to the best Daddy to Fifi the wrestler the swimmer and football player. We love you @jayrutland.’

The star also shared a photo alongside Bernie, 89, who is soon to be a father for the fourth time, and wrote: ‘Happy Fathers Day to the best Dad and Grandad the best example of always being fair and kind and loving us unconditionally.

Jacqueline Jossa, meanwhile, paid tribute to Dan Osborne with a cute series of photos following claims the couple had been ‘struggling’ during the early weeks of lockdown, leading to the actress temporarily moving out.

However, the EastEnders star, 27, put on a united front with her husband as she shared photos of Dan and their daughters Mia, two, Ella, five and his son Teddy, six.

Elsewhere, giggling uncontrollably, three young siblings piled on to their beaming dad Prince William in joyous horseplay.

The gorgeous photograph is the latest to be taken by the Duchess of Cambridge, and has been released to mark Father’s Day and William’s 38th birthday, both of which fell on Sunday.

It clearly shows the playful, loving bond between the family, and how the Duke is revelling in the role that has been the making of him – fatherhood.

Another new image – on our front page – reinforces that, with William cuddling two-year-old Louis on his knee while Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince George, six, lark around them. The swing they are sitting on has significance for Father’s Day, too, as it was a wedding present from Prince Charles.

The happy normality, away from the trappings and travails of Royalty, is reflected in the high-street clothes they wear. Charlotte sports a pair of £10 John Lewis dungarees with a nautical striped T-shirt and rose-pink £24.99 Igor canvas shoes, also from John Lewis. Blond Louis wears a £4.99 Gap polo bodysuit and blue shorts, while George sports a £5.99 khaki H&M T-shirt.

Kate, a keen and talented photographer, took these delightful pictures on Friday in the grounds of their Norfolk country home, Anmer Hall, and they demonstrate the fruits of William’s determination that his children would have what he never did: a secure, happy and rural childhood with both parents hands-on and putting their offspring first.

Kate, 38, enjoyed an idyllic Berkshire countryside upbringing, growing up in the close-knit Middleton family with supportive parents and sporty younger siblings Pippa and James, who all enjoyed spending time together.

William’s experience was famously fractured – a workaholic father he rarely saw, corrosive fighting between his warring parents and ultimately the loss of his mother Diana when he was 15.

So it is little surprise that the Duke has put the happiness of his children above everything else: the job of being a parent, his No 1 priority.
