Samantha Armytage keeps a low profile as she enjoys an outing with boyfriend Richard Lavender… after receiving death threats over race controversy from 2015

Samantha Armytage recently revealed that she’s received abuse and death threats from online trolls after news broke that she was being sued in a race row last week.

And on Thursday, the 43-year-old kept a low profile as she enjoyed a day out with her boyfriend Richard Lavender in Sydney.

The Sunrise host was spotted driving her black Range Rover while her beau sat in the passenger seat next to her.

Samantha styled her blonde hair straight and appeared to be wearing minimal make up during the trip.

Their outing comes less than one week after she  revealed the barrage of vile abuse she has received from trolls, threatening to kill her and her dog Banjo, after the news broke that she was being sued in a race row.

The Sunrise co-host is being sued for racial vilification over what was slammed as an ‘abhorrent’ TV segment about a ‘second stolen generation’.

She admitted that while her words during the March 2015 discussion were ‘clumsy’, she insisted they were not racist.

She also shared the torrent of vile abuse she had received online in recent days, with cruel trolls suggesting she kill herself and threats to ‘shut her mouth forever’.

‘Just one of many, many messages I’ve received from strangers this week,’ she wrote on Twitter, sharing a disturbing message from a stranger.

Other threats included a twisted wish that she would experience depression and hurt herself, while also threatening to kill her beloved dog Banjo.

One particularly vile message on Instagram read: ‘All of this nation is waiting for the day you commit suicide.’

‘You deserve to die Samantha and I hope you do end up killing yourself before your foul disgusting uneducated mouth gets shut permanently forever.’

The controversy comes after footage resurfaced of Samantha congratulating a white woman on her skin colour.

The controversial Sunrise interview from 2015 featured British mixed-race twins Lucy and Mary Alymer. Sam introduced them separately.

‘Maria has taken after her half-Jamaican mum with dark skin and brown eyes and curly dark hair, but Lucy got her dad’s fair skin – good on her – along with straight red hair and blue eyes,’ she said at the time.

Her co-host Kochie seemed taken back by the comment and gave a confused glance in Sam’s direction.

In the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests, the segment has widely circulated on Twitter and been re-published by international news websites.
