Hogging the tree! Hidden camera captures itchy wild boar enjoying a long, hard night-time scratch

  • The footage was captured at night in a forest area near to a backyard
  • Wild boar uses the tree bark to relieve the itchy skin on the side of the body
  • The animals have double layer of fur that can become itchy with lack of humidity

This is the hilarious moment a wild boar was captured on camera enthusiastically scratching on some rough tree bark.

The itchy hog seems to relish the moment, unaware that he is being filmed by a camera set up in a forest area believed to be in Choisy-le-Roi, near Paris.

The boar walks over to the tree with its back to the camera and noisily rubs its body against the tree in the footage recorded by a wildlife enthusiast.

Leaning up against the bark, the boar proceeds to use the rough surface to scratch its itchy skin, moving up and down to get relief in a forest believed to be in Choisy-le-Roi, near Paris

The boar was filmed in June 16 in the wooded area behind a backyard by the camera set up to record night-time animal activity.

Wild boar have stocky, powerful bodies with a double layer of fur that can be brown, red, black, red, or grey.

They can reach 3 to 6.5 feet in length and weigh between 90 and 700 pounds in weight.

They are nocturnal animals and will spend around 12 hours asleep during the day, hidden in nests made of leaves.

Their skin can become itchy because of a lack of humidity in their environment.
