Gerard Butler strips down out of his wetsuit on Malibu beach

Gerard Butler enjoyed a spot of surfing at the beach in Malibu on Tuesday with a group of friends. 

The Scottish actor, 50, was pictured stripping out of his wetsuit after expertly navigating his way around the water on his surfboard. 

He was sporting longer lockdown hair and his usual shaggy beard for the outing and appeared to be in great spirits.

Gerard, who starred in films such as 300 and Olympus Has Fallen, seemed to be regaling the group with stories and appeared animated. 

He was not seen with his longtime girlfriend Morgan Brown, 49, who has accompanied him on beach outings. 

The couple have been linked romantically on and off for several years. 

It’s the fourth time in a week that Gerard has been pictured surfing in Malibu and previously went with Minnie Driver and Joel Kinnaman. 

No doubt he is enjoying having so much time off working as filming worldwide has halted due to the coronavirus. 

The Scottish actor can next be seen in the disaster thriller Greenland that is scheduled for release on August 14 by STX Entertainment.

Gerard, who also is a producer of the film, portrays John Garrity.

He must get his family to an underground bunker in Greenland after scientists learn that a comet will strike Earth in a few days likely causing the extinction of humanity. 

Butler first came into prominence by playing the title character in Dracula 2000, and then the iconic Phantom in 2004’s The Phantom of the Opera adaptation.

He first became a household name with his beloved role as King Leonidas in 300, based on Frank Miller’s iconic graphic novel.
