Production on The Stand, which centers around a pandemic of a weaponized strain of influenza, wrapped around the time the COVID-19 outbreak was deemed a pandemic in March.

Amber Heard stars in the upcoming drama miniseries, which is based on Stephen King’s 1978 novel of the same name.

And on Saturday, as coronavirus restrictions continue to slowly be rolled back, the leading lady took break from home quarantine for a trip to visit a friend in Los Angeles.

Despite the ease in some safety guidelines, Heard practiced social distancing by staying in her car during their chat.

The Aquaman star, 34, revealed a number of animated facial expressions that ranged from happy, to the funny-looking, and the concerned.

She sat in the passenger’s seat the entire time, as her friend stood a number of feet away behind a big tree.

Heard has been spending quality time with her family and girlfriend, Bianca Butti, since the lockdown became a way of life more than two months ago.

The family has been grieving the loss of her mother, Paige Heard.

‘I am heartbroken and devastated beyond belief at the loss of my mom, Paige Heard,’ she said in an announcement on Instagram that included a series of vintage photos.

‘She left us too early, clasping onto the memory of her beautiful, gentle soul. She will be missed from the very depths of our hearts forever.’

The Stand is described as ‘King’s apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil.’

Along with Heard, the dark-fantasy also stars James Marsden, Greg Kinnear, Odessa Young, Whoopi Goldberg, Alexander Skarsgard, among others.

So far there’s no official word on when the miniseries will premiere on CBS All Access, but Entertainment Weekly reported that it will likely be released before the end of 2020.
