He’s been enjoying some downtime amid the COVID-19 pandemic.  

And despite the global crisis, Blake Griffin ensured he celebrated Memorial in style with a beach party in Malibu on Monday as California begins to ease lockdown restrictions.

At one point, the professional basketball player, 31, still appeared to flout social distancing rules – in which you must keep at least six feet away from others – as he engaged in lively conversations with his pals.

Standing out, the Detroit Pistons power forward sported bright yellow shorts, which he paired with a white jumper and matching trainers.

The sportsman went for the effortlessly cool look in the accessory department as he styled his attire with circular-framed shades, brown shades and a gold necklace.

Blake later removed his long-sleeved top and opted for a floral print shirt instead as he caught up with his nearest and dearest.

While maintaining a distance on the sandy shores, the athlete appeared fairly close to his friends as they took the bash to the beach hut.

MailOnline has contacted Blake’s representatives for further comment. 

Blake had spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Clippers, beginning in 2009, before he was traded to the Detroit Pistons in 2018. 

Despite the move, he has maintained his residence in sunny Southern California, and has been spending the lockdown period at his home in LA.

The NBA league is still hoping to salvage the season and head back to the hardcourt.

There are ongoing talks about using the ESPN Wide World Of Sports Complex in Orlando as a bubble for games, practices and housing, according to multiple sources. 

The sports organization indefinitely suspended the season back on March 12 amid coronavirus fears, rather than outright canceling it, leaving open the option to resume later on.
