The Voice Australia started strong with its debut episode on Sunday night delivering a powerhouse singer in the form of teenager Adam Ludewig. 

The 16-year-old, from South Australia, turned chairs for his incredible voice, and turned heads thanks to his splendid mullet hairdo. 

The teen sang Leave a Light On by British singer-songwriter Tom Walker and turned all four chairs, with Boy George, Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian and Kelly Rowland all vying to mentor the singer.

And fans at home were instantly taken by the young performer, with many expressing their affection for the singer and his eye-catching haircut.

Someone else wrote: ‘Adelaide boy got in with a majestic mullet. Lit performance though’.  

Speaking to the Adelaide Advertiser, the uniquely stylish schoolboy, who admitted he normally ‘sings in his toilet’, says he has no plans for a new look.   

‘Mate, the mullet is here to stay. It’s business at the front, party at the back. I didn’t want a mullet like everyone else, I wanted my own version of the mullet,’ he said.

Hope: 'I want to make songs that really motivate people and tell them that they're not just a nobody, and that it's okay to be different,' he told the Advertiser.

Adam, who suffers from autism and ADHD, says he wants to inspire others through music. 

‘I want to make songs that really motivate people and tell them that they’re not just a nobody, and that it’s okay to be different. If everyone was the same on this earth, it would be pretty boring,’ he told the Advertiser. 

After turning all four chairs, Adam opted to choose Guy Sebastian – who himself became famous for his Afro hairdo – as his mentor.
