Rebecca Judd raises eyebrows by joking that Miley Cyrus’ distinctive husky voice is due to ‘smoking darts’
Footy WAG Rebecca Judd has mocked American pop star Miley Cyrus’ distinctive husky voice.
While discussing Miley’s viral address to 2020 graduates on Monday’s 3pm Pick-Up, she asked: ‘What’s with her speaking voice?’
She said the Wrecking Ball star, 27, sounded like she’d been smoking too many ‘darts’ – an Australian slang term for cigarettes.

Miley sang her 2009 hit single The Climb to the graduating class of 2020 after coronavirus lockdowns prohibited such ceremonies.
While Rebecca, 37, praised Miley’s singing – which she said gave her ‘goosebumps’ – she was surprised by her hoarse speaking voice.
‘What’s with her speaking voice? She sounds like she’s been smoking some darts there,’ she joked.

Funnily enough, it’s not the first time an Australian media personality has commented on Miley’s raspy voice.
Today show host Karl Stefanovic also mentioned on air in March.

He left his colleagues speechless when he joked that Miley sounded liked she’d been smoking too many ‘darts’.
Miley had said in her 2009 autobiography, Miles to Go, that she ‘would never smoke’.
‘I always say that for me, smoking would be like smashing my guitar and expecting it to play,’ she said. ‘I’d never do that to my voice, not to mention the rest of my body.’
However, she was a teenager at the time and may have changed her views since.
