Boy George reveals NEW coaches will be introduced on The Voice Australia amid COVID-19

The Voice Australia will look very different in 2020, as two of the show’s international coaches, Boy George and Kelly Rowland, are unable to return Down Under because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Boy George, who is based in London, said the network is coming up with an interesting solution to the problem.

‘We’re still working it out… we’re goign to make it work,’ Boy George said during an interview with KIIS FM’s Kyle And Jackie ‘O’ Show on Tuesday.

‘At the moment what we’re doing is we’re planning to film some stuff in London and I think I’m going to share coaching duties with some new people in Australia,’ he added, sounding confident that it would run smoothly.

It’s unclear if Kelly will do the same. She is currently is based in America.

The pair, who have appeared on the show since 2017, will supposedly be temporarily replaced on set in a co-coaching capacity.

NW magazine recently claimed Australian singers Jessica Mauboy and Conrad Sewell were joining the program.

‘[They] will move into a mentor role from the US and UK on Zoom,’ a source told the magazine at the time.

However, a Channel Nine spokesperson denied the rumours to Daily Mail Australia earlier this month.

‘We can confirm we remain committed to our four superstar Coaches – Delta Goodrem, Boy George, Kelly Rowland and Guy Sebastian – and have no plans to replace them with any other artists,’ the said.

‘We have filmed the Blind Auditions and Battles thus far, and will have more to share on the later rounds of The Voice closer to those dates.’
