‘I’m excited to reteam with David and work with Jamie, Guy and Radio Silence on the next ‘Scream,’ Williamson told Variety.

‘Their take on the movie is both original, inventive and honors Wes’ legacy in a wonderful way. Ready Or Not was my favorite horror film of last year and I can’t wait to see what their amazing talents bring to the ‘Scream’ universe. I’m thrilled to be a part of it.’

In early May, Campbell, 46, said she was initially ‘apprehensive’ to reprise her role as author and crisis counselor Sidney Prescott in the horror series due to the 2015 death of the creator Craven.

‘He was such a genius and he is the reason the [Scream movies] are what they are,’ Neve explained to ReelBlend co-host Jake Hamilton.

‘But [directing duo Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin] have come to me with such a great appreciation for Wes’ work, and they really want to honor it. That meant a lot to me. Hopefully we’ll be able to do it!’

Campbell said she’s been ‘having conversations’ with the Ready or Not filmmakers but the shoot, which was scheduled for this month has been delayed due to the coronavirus.

‘It’s a little hard at the moment because of COVID to know when that’ll happen,’ the Hot Air actress said during the 12-minute interview.

‘Hopefully, we can see eye to eye on all the elements that have to come into place for it to happen.’

Neve has been in quarantine with her two sons – Caspian, seven, and Raynor, two – with Ford v Ferrari actor JJ Feild, whom she began dating in 2011.

The former ballerina next plays small-town teenager Henry’s (Alex Wolff) dying mother Rebecca in Joey Klein’s opioid drama Castle in the Ground, which will be released VOD starting May 15.

‘I think being a mom and having two sons certainly made playing this character challenging emotionally because I was putting myself in the shoes of Rebecca – imagining what it would be if I had to say goodbye to my boys,’ Neve described.

‘It was very, very emotional to go through that and certainly adds to my understanding of how to play her.’

Campbell spent a decade out of the spotlight in London after her tremendous success in the nineties from Scream, Party of Five, and The Craft.
