‘She’s an exquisite little thing’: On Friday, after hosting the Today show, Karl Stefanovic shared a glimpse of his adorable newborn daughter Harper May fast asleep in an Instagram Live with Today’s entertainment reporter Brooke Boney

During the broadcast, he quietly stepped back into his bedroom and was careful not to wake up Jasmine, who was also asleep in the room.

He then turned the camera towards two-week-old Harper May, who looked very cosy in a pink onesie while wrapped in her blanket.

At one point, the baby grabbed her father’s finger and he gently stroked her hand.

‘[Harper May is a] beaut and she doesn’t do too bad like at night. She’s doing three hours and whatnot and then feeding and then going back to sleep,’ he said.

‘She’s certainly quite well, which is great,’ he added.

Earlier this week, Karl returned to the Today show after taking 10 days off following Harper May’s birth on May 1.

He told his co-host Allison Langdon that he was ‘struggling a bit’ when she asked him how he was finding being back at work so soon.

‘Everything hurts. I’m tired. Emotional,’ he said.

But the struggle was clearly worth it for Karl, who said of his little girl: ‘She is so gorgeous, 2.9 kilos of just scrumptious delight.’

He added: ‘She’s sleeping okay, three hours on, three hours off. Jasmine has just taken it in her stride. She is feeding really well. It makes me cry already.’

Karl also has three older children, Jackson, 20, Ava, 15, and River, 13, whom he shares with ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn.
