Kate Langbroek’s family has ANOTHER run-in with Italian police

Developing quite the reputation! Kate Langbroek’s family has ANOTHER run-in with Italian police… this time while playing basketball during lockdown

Kate Langbroek and her family have made quite the impression on the authorities during their year living abroad in Italy.

Appearing on The Project on Thursday, the 54-year-old radio host revealed her family had been pulled up by Italian police again – the third time while in lockdown.

With Italy starting to loosen some of their strict restrictions after the coronavirus pandemic crippled the country, Kate said her husband of 17 years, Peter Allen Lewis, decided to take two of their sons outside to play basketball.

‘My husband took the little boys to shoot basket hoops on Monday morning before homeschool, because we knew we were allowed out in the parks and the gardens were open,’ she explained.

But as they finished up their game, Kate said the police arrived and told them they were ‘not allowed’ to play.

‘Peter was like, “I thought you were allowed?” And they were like, “No ball sports! No squad!”‘ she said, putting on an Italian accent.

Winking at the camera, she cheekily added: ‘You’re allowed to do solo things but not do things together. You’re not allowed to use balls.’

In mid-April, Kate revealed she and her husband had been stopped by Italian police while out buying Easter eggs for their four children.

She said she had stopped to take a photo of the statue Neptune during their outing, when the police pulled up and began to question her husband.

And at the beginning of April, Kate revealed her husband was being sued by the city of Bologna for breaking lockdown rules.

She said Peter had been riding his bicycle at 7am when he was stopped by police, unaware they’d changed the restrictions the night before.

‘It was pretty intense, he’s being sued by the city of Bologna. They said to him, “Have you got a lawyer?”‘ she told Triple M’s Moonman In the Morning.
