Nova’s Fitzy reveals he’s copped ‘ridiculous’ amount of abuse from Trump supporters after fake tweet

Radio host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald is brutally trolled by Donald Trump supporters over a prank involving the president’s Twitter account

He pranked his followers on Monday with a fake ‘retweet’ from President Donald Trump.

And now Nova’s Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald has revealed that he’s copped a ‘ridiculous’ amount of abuse from Trump’s supporters.

The 43-year-old spoke on his radio show on Tuesday about the stitch up and told trolls to ‘come at him again.’

‘For all you haters, come at me again!’ Nova’s Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald (pictured left with co-host Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli) reveals he’s copped a ‘ridiculous’ amount of abuse from Trump supporters after THAT fake tweet

‘For all you haters from America who thought I stitched up Trump yesterday with my tweet, come at me. Go at me again,’ Ryan said.

But he added that he’s getting a lot of people also commending him for the prank, with some not knowing it was a fake tweet.

‘It’s ridiculous, the amount of people from the States… But it’s on both levels, the amount of people are praising me going, ”well done, you stitched up Trump, he replied to you,” Ryan said.

Explaining the prank to listeners, Ryan said: ‘We doctored it up… People have been sucked in and then there’s others that are getting really angry with me.’

Ryan then joked that he’s given up on ever having a political career, saying: ‘I’m out mate!’

On Monday, Ryan appeared to get a ‘retweet’ from Trump on Twitter.

Backlash: 'We doctored it up... People have been sucked in and then there's others that are getting really angry with me,' Ryan said

Taking to his own Twitter account, Ryan shared a tweet which read: ‘Hey Trumpy, working hard or hardly working?’

It looked as though Donald replied, when he wrote: ‘Thank you, Ryan. Working hard!’

However it was fake and Photoshopped, after Trump actually replied to founder and co-chairman of @TrumpStudents, Ryan Fournier.

The trick even appeared to trip up Nova’s newsreader Matt De Groot, who momentarily thought the retweet was genuine.

Replying on Twitter on Monday, one fan told Fitzy: ‘You joker! I actually had to look that up.’

Another said that he has good Photoshopping skills, while one fan shared a GIF of Barack Obama doing a mic drop.
