Emmerdale fans notice blunder as schedule shake-up means it’s STILL Easter

‘It didn’t take Jesus that long to rise from the grave’: Emmerdale fans notice blunder as schedule shake-up means it’s STILL Easter on the show

Emmerdale fans couldn’t help but notice a blunder on the show on Wednesday night’s episode as it’s still Easter in the dales.

The channel has shaken up the scheduling somewhat amid the coronavirus pandemic, showing fewer episodes per week so they don’t run out.

This is because while under lockdown, the cast and crew have been unable to film any new episodes, however, they do film a couple of months in advance.

‘Happy Easter, Emmerdale! This is the longest Easter! Two weeks and counting!  It didn’t take that long for Jesus Christ to rise from the grave. It was three days!’

‘Oh, it’s Easter again! Does that mean I’m allowed to eat more Easter egg chocolate? #emmerdale.’

‘And now it is Easter Sunday on #Emmerdale. No doubt it will be on #CoronationStreet, too.

‘How are they ever going to resolve this after the #lockdown? Run three back to back episodes of each of them every night for months? How, exactly?’

Emmerdale now only transmits three times a day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, rather than its usual five-times weekly slot.

A source for ITV previously said: ‘The two biggest soaps on TV, Coronation Street and Emmerdale, will continue to run through the Spring and into the early Summer.’

In March, Emmerdale released the following statement: ‘ITV has sadly taken the decision to suspend production of the soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale with effect from Monday, 23rd March.

‘We’ve been doing our best to carry on filming, whilst adhering to the government’s latest health guidelines, to ensure we’ve episodes of both soaps airing on ITV until at least the early summer.

‘However, the health and well-being of the production teams, actors, crew and their families is of paramount importance to us and we now feel that the time has come to stop filming.

‘We’d like to thank our viewers for their support and hope they continue to enjoy both soaps in the coming months.’
