A furious shopper threatened supermarket staff with a weapon after he was ‘caught using fake vouchers’ and told one worker: ‘I hope you f*****g get coronavirus and die you c***.’

The shocking footage shows the thug swearing and abusing staff outside Morrisons in Burntwood, Staffordshire, after apparently being rumbled on Sunday.

A staff member from the store is also spotted confronting the lout – but is pulled back by his colleagues during the drama, which happened at around 3 p.m.

It is not known exactly what happened after the clip but Morrisons said police had to be called as violence escalated.

The supermarket’s spokesman also claimed the incident began after the man was confronted for allegedly trying to use fraudulent vouchers.

An eyewitness said: ‘It was disgusting. ‘He shouted at the cashier – who wouldn’t allow him to use the vouchers; ‘I hope you f*****g get coronavirus and die you c***’.

Staffordshire Police said it was speaking to the man from a local area in connection with the incident

‘He also ran up to the security man and said: ‘I’ll f*****g blow you up’. He was shouting loads more profanities. He completely lost it.’

Staffordshire Police said officers had spoken to the man in the video. 

A spokesman for the force said: ‘We are aware of footage of an incident that took place at Morrisons in Burntwood at 3:30 p.m. on April 26 being shared on social media.

‘We want to reassure members of the public that we are speaking to a man from the local area in connection with this incident and enquiries are ongoing.’
