Jade Thirlwall recreates viral Chanel the Parrot video by trawling the streets in floods of tears

Jade Thirlwall has been using lockdown to entertain fans with parody videos.

And her latest sees her mimicking the viral video of Chanel the Parrot in which a woman desperately calls out for the lost bird as she trawls the streets around her house.

Jade has added her band Little Mix’s Break Up Song to the video, which sees her miming the woman’s desperate cries while the track plays over the top.

Jade wears a hoodie as she films herself walking around outside in faux tears as the lyrics ‘Let it play on, and on, and on/Just another break-up song’ blare out.

This is her latest jokey video, after recreating the iconic scene from Come Dine With Me in which contestant Peter told Jane: ‘You have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.’

Jade’s hilarious Chanel parody was even featured on This Morning, while hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield interviewed the woman from the original video, Sandra Hannah, 40, via video link.

Jade spoke to Radio 1 recently where she talked about the video, which went viral last Thursday after Sandra swept the streets of Netherton, Liverpool, crying out ‘Chanel’, after the nifty two-year-old bird escaped.

Thankfully the mother-of-four’s parrot was found just over two miles from Sandra’s home, and Sandra appeared on This Morning where she also revealed that her pet is named Chanel simply because her dog is called Coco.

She explained a stranger contacted her on Facebook from nearby town Seaforth, to tell her the parrot had been found: ‘She was knocking on a window in saying “hello, hello, hello”,’ said Sandra.

Host Philip asked, ‘Why is she called Chanel?’, to which Sandra explained: ‘Because my dog’s called Coco!’

Viewers found the interview hilarious, with one insisting the ‘brilliant’ chat left them in ‘hysterics’ and that they ‘wished Sandra was their friend’.

Sandra’s video quickly gained traction online, with popular Instagram accounts creating memes and remixes of the video.

‘My son came up to me saying “All my mates are messaging me, saying you’re famous!”. I said behave. We were in stitches,’ said Sandra.

The parrot, named Chanel, was found the next day by a stranger in Seaforth.

‘We were sitting in the garden, all the doors were locked in the cage but her water bowl gate was open,’ Sandra told the MailOnline after the incident. ‘My neighbour started a drill going and she just bolted out the water bowl gate. And I just thought what should I do? I thought I would share it on Facebook Live.

‘We all cried all night. We were all saying a prayer, please come home Chanel. We were just all devastated. As soon as the light come up we were all out on the canal searching.

‘If it wasn’t for Facebook I don’t think I would have found her. It was the worst day of my life, the worst.’
