Unfortunately, it is not known what has brought Clark back to California, nor is it known if she will reunite with Oliver Stark’s Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley.

Clark was romantically involved with Buck when she left, and he has been trying to figure out his life without her ever since.

Executive producer Tim Minear, who co-created the series with Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, hinted at Britton’s return in a January interview with TV Line.

‘I do believe she has unfinished business. Abby promised she would come back and she never did,’ Minear said.

‘So there’s unfinished business for Abby, and definitely also for Buck. He’s kind of lost at sea right now,’ the executive producer added.

‘He’s still trying to figure out who he is, and his relationship with Abby started to redefine him. Once she left, he had to figure out who he was without her,’ Minear said.

TV Line also caught up with Stark, who said he wasn’t sure what might happen when Abby and Buck reunite.

‘I don’t know what [Abby’s return] means. I don’t know what that’s going to stir up. But it’s teasing at stuff, which is always fun,’ Stark said.

The Season 3 finale of 9-1-1 begins with the new episode Powerless on Monday, May 4 and concludes with What’s Next on Monday, May 11, both at 8 PM ET on Fox.
