Gerard Butler takes a break from his coronavirus quarantine and heads to the beach in 4 X 4 ATV for a day of surfing in Malibu

Gerard Butler took a reprieve from his home quarantine, amid the coronavirus pandemic, by heading out to catch some waves.

The 300 star was first seen arriving at a private beach access on Sunday afternoon in Malibu.

At one point he changed into a wetsuit and then grabbed his surfboard and headed towards the Pacific Ocean in an E-Z-Go Express 4×4 ATV for some solo surfing.

By the time he was ready to make his way to the shoreline, the Scottish born actor was also wearing a grey t-shirt and flip-flops.

He also donned a baseball cap and dark sunglasses on yet another warm and sunny Southern California day.

During his short ride, the Angel Has Fallen star bumped into local neighbor and actor, Josh Brolin, his wife Kathryn Boyd and their young daughter Westlyn.

He stopped and chatted with the couple for a few minutes, all while practicing social distancing.

For the most part, Butler has been staying out of the public’s eye during over the last month of the COVID-19 crisis.

He was seen late last month with longtime love Morgan Brown when they spent a day of fun in the sun on the beach in Malibu.
