‘We are now looking to 2021’: The Bachelor’s Laura Byrne reveals how COVID-19 has delayed her marriage to Matty ‘Matty J’ Johnson

Many weddings have been cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

And on Monday, The Bachelor’s Laura Byrne revealed her marriage to Matthew ‘Matty J’ Johnson was one of those weddings, too.

Speaking to TV Week, Laura said they initially planned to get married this year but are now hoping to tie the knot next year.

‘We had originally thought that we would have our wedding this year, but juggling a baby and full-time work meant that we never got around to locking in a date and venue,’ Laura told the publication.

‘Luckily our lack of plans and disorganisation meant that we didn’t have to cancel anything. We are now looking to 2021.’

The Bachelor couple are currently in lockdown at their Bondi home with their 10-month-old daughter Marlie-Mae, who will turn one in May.

Earlier this month, it was reported that New South Wales could be in COVID-19 lockdown until June, meaning they may have to celebrate their daughter’s first birthday at home.

‘It’s sad we won’t be able to have a first birthday party with our friends and family, but we are still going to try and make the day special,’ Laura told TV Week.

Apart from looking after their baby, the couple have been keeping busy by working on their respective podcasts, posting TikTok challenges and working out.

On Thursday, Matthew performed an at-home isolation workout along with Marlie-Mae from the backyard of the couple’s Bondi pad.

Last week, the former Bachelor also caught Laura on video rapping Nicki Minaj to their baby while getting ready for bed.
