MasterChef Australia seems to have all the right ingredients this year, topping the TV ratings for two consecutive nights.

Tuesday’s episode of the hit Channel Ten cooking series pulled in almost 1.1million viewers, with only Seven News and Nine News beating the program.

The second episode of the latest season of the long-running reality series saw 1,094,000 viewers tuning in across the country.

Along with Seven News and Nine News, it was the only program to top 1million viewers, with ABC News trailing behind it with 977,000 viewers.  

It followed a strong premiere episode on Monday night, which saw new judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo taking over from Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston.

Monday’s debut episode marked the highest ratings premiere for the show in five years.

The premiere episode was watched by 1.23million viewers nationwide, making it the highest rating reality TV premiere for the year.

It even managed to beat out Married At First Sight, with the cult Channel Nine reality series premiering to an audience of 1.154million back in February.

Meanwhile, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! debuted with 954,000 viewers, while House Rules pulled in 666,000.

‘Twelve seasons in and MasterChef Australia is still loved by so many people,’ Network Ten’s chief content officer, Beverley McGarvey, told The Sydney Morning Herald on Tuesday. 

‘Food is a universal theme, particularly in times like these, and our show has always been about the food. The cooking, passion and energy in MasterChef Australia this year is amazing and it is going to be a really thrilling season.’
