Elizabeth McGovern claims she taught Brad Pitt how to KISS in their rom-com The Favour and jokes that she ‘made him the man that he is’

Elizabeth McGovern has claimed she taught Brad Pitt how to kiss.

The Downton Abbey star, 58, joked on Wednesday that she made the Hollywood icon, 56, ‘the man he is’ today thanks to their scenes in 1994 rom-com The Favour.

Taking part in a game of Sip It or Spill It with Kelly Clarkson, she made the revelation as she and her co-stars Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville and Allen Leech appeared on the singer’s talk show.

Described as a ‘sophisticated version of Never Have I Ever’, Hugh began the game by saying: ‘Sip it and spill it if you’ve ever snogged Brad Pitt.’

Elizabeth took a sip of her drink and grinned as she raised her hand as she said: ‘Somebody had to. I did it as a paid job because we were on a set, acting.’

Kelly laughed and commented that it was ‘a beautifully-paid job’ if it required Elizabeth to lock lips with Brad.

The actress then joked: ‘Yes. There are worse ways to earn a living, so I was not complaining. But yes, he cut his teeth with me, I think. I made him the man that he is. He’s learned everything from me!’

In The Favour Elizabeth plays Emily, a woman who is having relationship troubles with her drifter artist beau Elliott (Brad).

Her best friend, Kathy, has also been having similar issues, as her marriage to Peter (Bill Pullman) has become to feel like routine and she starts to wonder whether she should rekindle her romance with old flame Tom (Ken Wahl).

Rather than break her vows, Kathy asks Emily to meet Tom and seduce him to see if she’s missing out, which leads to an array of new problems when Emily realises she is pregnant but doesn’t know whether its Tom or Elliott’s baby.

Meanwhile, it was recently confirmed the Downton Abbey cast will be reuniting once again for another movie.

Speaking to ET, producer Gareth Neame said: ‘We are totally committed to making a sequel if we can bring all the elements back.

‘During the course of this year, we will have a script and we will try to assemble all the actors again, you know, as soon as we can.’
