Australia’s east coast is rattled by a 4.8-magnitude earthquake

A 4.8-magnitude earthquake has struck just off the coast of north Queensland.

The tremor hit just off Bowen at 5.11pm. 

Queenslanders reported feeling the quake hundreds of kilometres away in Ayr and Townsville. 

There have not been any reports of damage to homes or injuries.
