Made In Chelsea’s Sam and Louise awkwardly tell Zara that Tiff is back on the scene

Sam Thompson’s ex-girlfriend Tiffany Watson will return to Made In Chelsea on Monday night – and in a clip exclusive to MailOnline, his current girlfriend Zara McDermott does not take kindly to the news.

In the clip, Sam is seen talking to sister Louise about Tiff’s return – and that she is going on a date with another cast member, Miles Nazaire.

He says to Louise: ‘I am so happy you’re here because if there’s one person I want to tell this to, it’s you.

‘Miles is taking Tiff on a date.’

Louise is gobsmacked by the news. ‘Shut up! I want to take her on a date!’ she says.

Zara – who Sam has been dating for almost a year – then comes in and Sam tells her about Miles and Tiff.

‘Miles is dating Tiff,’ Sam tells her, which is met with a steely glare.

‘Oh wow, okay!’she says, cryptically.

‘I really don’t think you have anything to worry about, she is really sweet and wouldn’t step on anyone’s toes,’ Louise reassures Zara.

Sam adds: ‘Remember I got dumped, there’s no possibility of anything that way inclined…’

This is met with a prolonged silence, to which Louise decides to excuse herself.

‘I’m going to go… and it’s a tiny bit awkward…’ she says, getting up.

Sam told MailOnline last week that his ‘main priority is Zara’, having gone through a very public break-up with Tiff on the show two years ago.

‘I have to just be aware, be finessed, and understand it’s not easy for her,’ he said. ‘Zara has to be around two of my exes in the space of a year.’

Indeed, Zara also stars alongside Sophie ‘Habbs’ Habboo on the series as well, who Sam dated after Tiff.

‘I have no problem with Tiff,’ said Sam. ‘But I understand where Zara is coming from. It’s not easy for her.

‘But at the end of the day, I am in love, I don’t care, I have no feelings for Tiff other than, hopefully, friendship.’

In fact Sam thinks Tiff’s return is like welcoming a family member back to the long-running structured reality series.

‘I think it’s a good idea to come back. I know what it’s like. I suppose what better thing to do than show you’re smashing life,’ he said.

‘Tiff is a strong independent woman. She is her own person. People liked her on the show for years. I would’ve come back quicker. She is an MIC family member in her own right.’

Last year on the show Sam ‘broke the fourth wall’ when he became the first cast member to reference Made In Chelsea on Made In Chelsea.

‘I had to because it was such a big part of my anger,’ Sam said of the moment, which saw him confront Jamie Laing for starting a romance with Habbs, which Sam learnt about from watching it unfold on TV. ‘I asked them, got lied to, watched it on TV – it was the ultimate humiliation.

‘That could never have been felt by an audience if [referencing the show itself] hadn’t been shown. Plus, the audience isn’t stupid. They know it’s a TV show, they know we know it’s a TV show.

‘I think it was about respecting the audience’s intelligence. Plus it hightlights the real-life element of the show because it is all real.’

Made In Chelsea’s 19th series will run a little shorter than previous seasons thanks to the COVID-19 lockdown which has put an abrupt halt to productions across the world.

And off the back of this, Sam will be launching a series of Instagram stories called Quaran-Tea with Thompson.

This sees Sam having zoom chats with different cast members whilst they’re in isolation, the first chat being with Miles Nazire.

‘This is my baby,’ Sam says of the format. ‘You only get to see a few minutes of each scene when the show airs because we are on a time limit. But there is so much more to these people.

‘I want these chats to help fans figure out a bit more about them.  I like getting into the nitty gritty. It also gives the people I speak to a chance to explain themselves and their mindset of why they might’ve done or said something.

‘Miles is a great guest. He isn’t shy, he’s open. It was really really fun to film with him and get an insight into who he is as a person. i think he’s finding out a lot more about himself and he’s become a decent lad.’

Sam will also sit down for a chat with Emily Blackwell.

‘Emily is in the thick of things this seroes and she is such a colourful character. And she has all that stuff going on at the moment with Habbs and Jamie and Harvey [Armstrong].

‘Emily and Habbs were really good friends so I wanted to ask her what this guy [Harvey] have to make her feel it was special. I want to find out the why and the what and the who.’

Sam – who has appeared on other reality series Celebs Go Dating ans Celebrity Big Brother – said he’s not one to blame the editing of a show, as so many reality stars tend to do.

‘Yeah people will go “Oh it’s the edit!” Um, is it? You said all that stuff. An edit can’t change what’s been said! People who say that just regret what they might have said.

‘I’ve never worked with any show that has tried to bring me down or make me look bad. It’s always me – my mistakes. No one is trying to bring anyone down but that’s what people fall back so they don’t look like an arse!’

Made In Chelsea continues on Monday at 9PM on E4.
