A glorious British Bank Holiday weekend drenched in sun would normally see millions of us descending on parks, beaches and beer gardens across the country.

But this Easter weekend is not like any other, and instead Britons will be locked up in their homes in order to stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

The only people who should be seen outdoors are those who have to venture outside for work, exercise or carry out essential shopping.

It means the nation’s sun-baked nature spots are free of crowds in an eerily beautiful reminder of our landscape during these anxious times.

Police have said they will be on the look out for people flouting the new lockdown rules.

But for those obeying the temporary measures and eagerly anticipating their freedom and a return to normality, these images serve as a reminder for what we will hopefully soon be able to enjoy.

In Bournemouth, Dorset, hardly a soul can be seen on the beach despite Britain basking in a glorious Bank Holiday weekend. Only a handful of runners are visible near the sand as millions obey the orders to stay at home
