A group of medical staff are seen clapping while wearing full PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to the tune of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.

Nurses at the hospital said they decided to record the footage to thank the United Kingdom ‘from the bottom of their hearts’ due to all of the support the NHS has received.

They also wanted to express their gratitude for people staying inside as the country gets warmer – with temperatures set to hit 24 degrees on Friday.

The worker who filmed the video also said: ‘We wanted to do the applause to thank the public for their support in following the lockdown rules, therefore protecting us allowing us to do our job safely with less pressure.’

The staff are hopeful that it will reach a wide audience so people know how much love and support they have received.

The clip has already racked up more than 13,000 views, likes, shares and comments online.

People across the UK have been saluting NHS staff and other key workers every Thursday evening since March 26 – with the tradition expected to go on for the foreseeable future.

Pictures and videos showed households clapping, banging pots and pans, while some played bagpipes to show their support.

Given the lockdown rules, people gathered on balconies, doorsteps and in their gardens to make their support heard.

There have been 60,733 confirmed cases of coronavirus across the UK as of Thursday, with 7,079 deaths due to the disease.
