TALK OF THE TOWN: Prince and Princess Michael of Kent’s son Lord Freddie Windsor picks up lockdown essentials at a London supermarket dressed in his cricket sweater

If you want proof that the lockdown is a great leveller, look no further than this shot of Lord Freddie Windsor, son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

True to the eccentric style of the aristocracy, Freddie headed to a supermarket in South-West London dressed in his cricket sweater.

The 40-year-old banker is such a fan that he included a cricket set in his wedding gift list when he married actress Sophie Winkleman.

I can spy bananas, cheese, carrots and bread in his bags.

Howzat for uninspiring?

The movies Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody left out a lot of debauchery in their portrayals of Elton John and Freddie Mercury, but Boy George tells me he is ready to shock his fans with the unvarnished truth in his forthcoming biopic.

He says: ‘Elton and Freddie were very careful about how they protected their image, whereas I never really was. I imagine my film will be very truthful.’

Brave words from the 58-year-old Culture Club star, who has battled addiction and served 15 months in 2009 for the assault and false imprisonment of a male escort.
